Aline Dantas received her PhD in Chemical Biology in 2005 with Prof. Herbert Waldmann at the Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology in Germany. She then moved to Australia where she worked as a postdoc in the labs of Profs Paul Alewood and David Fairlie. She is now a senior peptide chemist at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience in Brisbane, engaged in improving the pharmacological properties of peptide drugs with applications in diabetes, cancer and analgesics. Her research career has been dedicated in developing innovative peptide and protein chemistry (synthesis, structure, function and druggability) with applications in medicine and biotechnology.
