I have recently finished my bachelors’ degree in Science in Adelaide (July 2012) and am currently undertaking my honours degree in Chemistry with the Fairlie group. The main focus of my project is computer based molecular modelling of protease-activator receptor 2 (PAR2). PAR2 is a G-coupled protein receptor and is of interest to us as it is involved in inflammation and cancer. Hence, I would be building a homology model of PAR2 in which virtual screening/optimisation would be done to obtain new novel compounds that binds with good affinity.
