I finished my studies in chemistry in 2011 at the University of Cologne. My diploma thesis was entitled “Synthesis and Characterization of PEGylated Ligands for Probing Biomolecular and Cellular Interaction” and it was carried out in the group of Prof. Dr. Sanjay Mathur in cooperation with Dr. Justin Holmes at the University College Cork in Ireland.  I then joined the group of Prof. Dr. Wolfram Sander at the Ruhr-University of Bochum to do my PhD.  I’m working with small cyclic disulphide bridged tetrapeptides. The main goal of this work is to understand more about the conformations and dynamics of these model systems as well as their photochemistry. At the moment, I am doing an internship in the Fairlie group for three months to study the properties of my tetrapeptides  and also to gain more insight into a field with more biological relevance.
